42nd BRIGHTON (Saltdean)

Scout Group, East Sussex, UK

*** WANTED ***
Leaders and Helpers in all sections

All sections in the Group are currently thriving. However, we just do not have enough leaders and helpers. There is a waiting list for all sections, especially Cubs (two packs) and Scouts (with the possibility of a second troop).

If you are local and would like to help, or even become a leader, please mail me..

If you are concerned about the time commitment, then please consider the following.

Helpers. Generally you have no other real commitment than helping on the section night. (There is no requirement to attend leader meetings.) However, it would be nice to see you for the odd weekend activity, and we would NEVER turn you away from any other activity. We would also NEVER stop you from obtaining a warrent.....

Leaders. It really depends how much time you have to spare, and how much you let yourself be sucked in! For example, if you want to get involved with training the younger scouts in preparation for their Baker's Dozen Hike, then we go out for half a day to one day during the six weekends prior to the event. We expect a high degree of commitment from the Scouts, and we have to be prepared to lead 'from the front', and give an equally high commitment ourselves.

Don't believe that the commitment is 'only two hours a week'. Maybe ten hours. Or fifteen! Only joking ;-)

Pay:
Helpers get half the Beaver Leader's pay.
Beaver Leaders get half the Cub Leader's pay.
Cub Leaders get half the Scout Leader's pay.
Scout Leaders get half the Venture Leader's pay.
Venture Leaders get half the Group Scout Leader's pay.

Quiz.
Guess how much the Group Scout Leader gets paid?
